ESR02: James Campbell

We’re happy to greet James Campbell welcome to the RIBES European Training Network. Last week, he joined the RIBES European Training Network as one of our early stage researchers (ESR). will be hosted by IGB - Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Germany and his work will focus around quantification of light pollution as a fish migration barrier.

ESR06: Alfredo Schiavon

We’re happy to greet Alfredo Schiavon welcome to the RIBES European Training Network. Last week, he joined the RIBES European Training Network as one of our early stage researchers (ESR). He will be hosted by IGB - Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Germany, and work on hydrodynamics in natural streams and implications for fish behavior.

ESR03: Henry Hansen

We are happy to announce that also Henry Hansen has joined the RIBES European Training Network as one of our early stage researchers (ESR) this week. He is hosted at Karlstad University, Sweden, and his research will focus on habitat alterations of rivers and fish community responses.

ESR13: Jelger Elings

We’re happy to greet Jelger Elings welcome to the RIBES European Training Network. This week he starts his position as one of our early stage researchers. He will work on fish migration in an anthropogenically impacted river system.

ESR15: Velizara Stoilova

This week, also Velizara Stoilova joined the RIBES European Training Network as one of our early stage researchers (ESR). She will be hosted by Norconsult, Sweden and at the same time pursue a PhD at Karlstad University while working on on designing new guidance devices to support downstream migrating fish

ESR09: Rachel Mawer

This week, Rachel Mawer joined the RIBES European Training Network as one of the ESRs (early stage researchers). Rachel Mawer will work on data analysis methods for the evaluation of fish migration paths in regulated rivers at SJE Ecohydraulic Engineering.

The first RIBES ESR is aboard

Today Ali Hassan Khan becomes the first ESR (early stage researcher) within the RIBES European Training Network. He will start perusing his PhD at Tallinn University of Technology (TALTECH) working on underwater robotics methods for fish hydrodynamics field measurements.

Selection process completed!

The RIBES selection process is now completed: all the 15 ESR positions have been filled

Selection process update

The selection process is being completed: 14 ESR positions have been already filled, while for ESR02 the final steps of the evaluation are being carried out on shortlisted candidates.

We have received a really overwhelming amount of very good applications, which made the entire process very difficult, time-consuming and highly competitive.

The RIBES team warmly thanks all the applicants for their great interest in the project and wishes them all the best for a bright future scientific career.
